Welcome to the 1st Annual Seattle Dragon Boat Festival
|
Water's Edge is pleased to present this exciting new dragon boat event for 2008. Sponsored by Starbucks and hosted by Club Sake, the Seattle Dragon Boat Race and Festival will be held September 6-7, 2008 on Lake Washington at Stan Sayers memorial park. This sought-after venue is the home of the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center and is also known for its association with Seattle's annual Seafair Hydroplane Races. The central Seattle location will finally enable Canadian and US competitors to have an end-of-summer festival that is community driven, centrally situated and both competitive & fun!
In addition to the action packed dragon boat races, paddlers and spectators alike will hear the rolling thunder of the taiko drums and take in the sights of the traditional dance, colorful dress and martial arts. Food connoisseurs will draw in the aromas of a variety of vendors who will serve food and beverage to suit all palates. This popular park will remain accessible to the general public so whether you come to race for the full day or visit just a few hours, you’ll no-doubt enjoy all the festivities and entertainment of this traditionally beautiful September weekend at Stan Sayers.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
